According to police, on Feb. 22, Wilton officers arrested both parties of a hand-to-hand drug exchange that took place in the parking lot of Caraluzzi’s Georgetown Market, 990 Danbury Road, around 11 a.m.

Responding to an anonymous tip from a person who witnessed the transaction, and who also supplied police with registration numbers and vehicle descriptions, officers found the alleged buyer’s car still parked at Caraluzzi’s. The alleged seller had already driven away.

The alleged buyer, Donna Devaney, 60, of 266 Florida Road, Ridgefield, was inside the market, and police saw in plain view a bag of marijuana in the interior of her car, they said.

When Devaney came out to her car, police arrested her for the misdemeanor possession of one ounce of suspected marijuana. They said she admitted to being involved in the alleged drug deal.

Officers of the Weston Police Department later made contact with the man accused of selling Devaney the marijuana — Michal Kokot, 26, of 93 Blue Spruce Circle, Weston.

They notified Wilton’s agency, and Wilton police seized the car, searched it, found approximately one ounce of suspected marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia, and arrested Kokot.

Kokot was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, the sale of illegal drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on March 3.

Devaney was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on March 3.
