Al Galletly

Al Galletly

Al Galletly has crossed the country twice: on a bicycle. He co-founded the Wilton Singers. He was a senior executive at GT&E. He has played piano duets with jazz great Dave Brubeck. He has been lauded as Wilton’s troubadour. He is currently director of music at Wilton Presbyterian Church. And, most significantly, he is a past-president of Wilton Kiwanis.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27,  he brings all these talents to WEPCO on New Canaan Road, where he will sing, play, talk and maybe ride his bicycle at the Kiwanis club’s regular luncheon, which begins at noon.

Galletly and his patter songs are a popular Kiwanis tradition. A good turnout is expected, so anyone who wishes to join club members at the meeting is asked to email guests@wiltonkiwanis.net with their names.

Future programs

The club’s traditional Valentine’s Day program will be Feb. 10, featuring flowers for the women and a presentation on  the importance of Love in Your Life by Michael Crystal.  The Wilton Encore Club, a social organization for women, will join Kiwanis for a joint meeting that day. Members are encouraged to bring spouses and guests to this special meeting, held as usual at WEPCO from noon to 1:30.

Other future guests include Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling on Feb. 3 and Robin and Ed Poska who will demonstrate ballroom dancing on Feb. 17.

Information: Bud Taylor at 203-354-0208.
