Mary Ann Genuario, health and fitness director at the Wilton branch of Riverbrook Regional YMCA, will participate in a breast cancer awareness program at Norwalk Hospital.

Beyond Breast Cancer Headlines — News You Can Use takes place at the hospital’s Richard S. Perkin Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The program will be hosted by Dr. Richard S. Zelkowitz, chief of Hematology/Oncology and medical director of the Smilow Family Breast Cancer Health Center. Other speakers include pharmacist Patrick Corbett, Barbara Schmidt, a registered dietitian nutritionist, and Reiki master Anne Geary.

The program will focus on maximizing life after breast cancer and improving long-term survival. Breast cancer is in the news daily, and the speakers have selected tips, to-do’s and must-haves from headlines that are relevant for daily life.
