Mary H. Langan

Mary H. Langan was born into Eternal Life Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, surrounded by her loving daughters. Originally from Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret McGovern Harrison.

Mary served as President of the Langan Automotive Group since the death of the family patriarch in 2009, Kevin G. Langan. Mary was a longtime member of the Wolferts Roost Country Club and the Fort Orange Club. She was a member of the Ladies of Charity, and served on the Foundation Board at Teresian House, and the Home School Association of The Academy of the Holy Names. Mary was devoted to her faith, and was a former Religious Education teacher at St. Joan of Arc Church, Menands.

Mary enjoyed spending summers at her home in Amagansett, N.Y. She was an avid Bridge player and also loved crossword puzzles and reading. She possessed a tremendous sense of humor and enjoyed being with her friends.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She was the loving wife and best friend for 51 years of the late Kevin G. Langan; beloved mother of Patricia “Tichie” Finin (Greg) of Menands, Tracey Rizzuto (Philip) of Barrington, R.I., Mary Beth Campito (Peter) of Loudonville, Ann Margaret Mannix (James) of Wilton, Conn., and Courtney Rakos (Glenn) of Tampa, Fla.; sister of Dolores T. Harrison of Carmel, N.Y., and the late Joseph Harrison and John Harrison; she is survived by 14 adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, especially her caregiver, Comfort.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, 3 to 6 p.m., in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany.

Funeral services are Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Mary H. Langan in a special way may send a contribution to either the Kevin G. Langan School, 314 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or Special Olympics of Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway #1, Smithfield, R.I. 02917.
