Wilton High School sophomore Victoria Koenigsberger and her honors chemistry teacher Jim Lucey at the Fairfield County chapter of the American Chemical Society’s end-of-the-year meeting, which entailed a dinner and awards ceremony.
Wilton High School sophomore and honors chemistry student Victoria Koenigsberger received a monetary award on Tuesday, May 19, at the end-of-the-year meeting of the Fairfield County chapter of the ACS (American Chemical Society).
The ACS welcomed each public and private school in Fairfield County to send one first-year chemistry student to sit for a series of tests. Victoria was among the top five students asked back to sit for the oral exam portion of the test — all the while preparing for and taking the AP Spanish and AP European history tests.
Victoria tied for second place on the ACS exam, which, science teacher Jim Lucey said, is “a huge feat due to the complexity and intricacies of understanding and being able to explain the chemistry concepts.”
