wilton-donationsWilton’s Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County has launched its 2014 Annual Appeal. The nonprofit organization is looking to raise $165,000 from this year’s appeal and these funds will help to ensure that area families in need have access to home health and hospice care, respite care for family caregivers who are emotionally and physically exhausted, and bereavement support for those who are grieving the loss a loved one.

“Our patients and families know they can count on us,” said Sharon Bradley, president and CEO of Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County. “The support we receive throughout the year enables our team of skilled caregivers to provide a comprehensive array of home health and hospice care services to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the duration of illness, no matter how great the need.  No one is ever turned away. Last year alone, we provided over $850,000 of charity care to those in need.”

For more than 100 years, Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County has provided professional nursing and support services, rehabilitation, counseling, health education, community wellness and health screening programs, senior care management and compassionate hospice and palliative care to children and adults in Wilton and throughout Fairfield County.

The nonprofit agency is staffed by professionals who provide in-home services to patients who may have been recently discharged from the hospital, are at home recovering from an illness or injury, or are in need of long-term care as a result of a chronic illness or condition. Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County was named one of the top home care agencies in the United States for 2014.
