The Eastern Percussion Ensemble performed a broad spectrum of musical styles from the original and transcribed works of the percussion and marimba ensemble repertoire on Sunday, Dec. 7.
Professor Jeff Calissi directed the show, exhibiting the talents of 14 performers, including Wiltonian percussionist Arnaldo Fraccaroli, a junior music major at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic.
Since its inception in 2006, the Eastern Percussion Ensemble has played host to several guest artists and clinicians like Nathan Daughtrey, Tomm Roland and Wilton’s own Arthur Lipner.
In addition to performing a concert at the conclusion of each semester, the Percussion Ensemble also performs each year at the Percussive Arts Society Connecticut Chapter Day of Percussion in West Hartford, and for various campus functions, such as recruitment concerts at area public schools.
