Sharing recipes and traditions
Kay Chann, left, and Winkie Chesley were among 25 members of Stay at Home in Wilton who gathered on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for a pre-Thanksgiving potluck lunch at WEPCO. Everyone brought a favorite dish to share, among them broccoli with shrimp sauce, butternut squash with cranberries, corn pudding, onion, shallot and leek casserole, homemade cranberry sauce, spinach pies, stuffed mushrooms, and Thanksgiving classics such as apple pie, pumpkin pie, and oven-baked turkey. Ken Dartley, a Stay at Home founding member, brought cracked wheat with nod and bulgur, a dish his mother used to make. As members enjoyed their meal they shared recipes, holiday traditions and memories. Executive Coordinator Janet Johnson led members in a time of reflection and Thanksgiving acknowledging the gift of family including the Stay at Home in Wilton family.
