Wilton native Sara Krivoshik ran the TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 2 to raise funds for AmeriCares emergency response and global health programs worldwide. Ms. Krivoshik, who ran along with her boyfriend Marshall Stock, helped Team AmeriCares raise more than $130,000 for the Stamford-based nonprofit. An avid runner, Ms. Krivoshik completed the race in 4 hours and 32 minutes.
“Simply put, AmeriCares and running are two things I feel strongly about, so running the marathon as part of Team AmeriCares seemed like a natural fit,” she said.
This year a record 50,564 runners battled strong winds and cold temperatures to participate. Annually the event raises nearly $25 million for close to 300 charities.
