To the Editors:
The Wilton Chamber of Commerce kicked off its annual HalloWeekend, which began on Saturday, Oct. 25 with the Pumpkin Parade, Trick-or-Treating and Halloween Portrait Fund-raiser. Thousands of trick-or-treaters gathered in Wilton Center for some frightful fun as they strolled through town collecting treats from Wilton merchants. For the third year in a row, the Chamber teamed up with Moments by Andrea Photography and raised $2,500 for the Wilton Community Assistance Fund, which was held at the festively decorated gazebo, courtesy of Young’s Nurseries. The fund-raiser even included more than 30 generous donations from Wilton businesses.
Wilton Fall Restaurant Week, which was held from Oct. 20 to 26, debuted this year, coinciding with HalloWeekend and Scarecrow Fest. The inaugural event resulted in a culinary celebration of the diverse cuisines to choose from in our town. We have received enthusiastic reviews from restaurateurs and diners alike for organizing and sponsoring this event. Sixteen Wilton and Georgetown restaurants rounded out this season’s roster, including Aranci 67, Bianco Rosso Wine Bar + Restaurant, Bistro 7, Black Cat Grille, Cactus Rose Restaurant + Tequila Bar, Coffee Barn, Little Pub Wilton, Luca Ristorante Italiano, Marly’s Bar + Bistro, Naked Greens, Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, Portofino, Reiki Sushi + Asian Bistro, Roly Poly, and Wilton Pizza.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this jam-packed, weeklong fall celebration. Whether you and your wee goblins paraded through town for a spooky afternoon with Wilton merchants or dined in our town by trying new restaurants and revisiting old favorites, we thank you.
Remember to shop Wilton and support your local businesses!
