Senior citizens, new to Wilton or new to Stay at Home in Wilton, are invited to a free newcomers brunch on Thursday, Oct. 23, 10:30 to 12:30, at Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road.

Stay at Home members will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the practical and social benefits of membership. They will also discuss volunteer opportunities.

Stay at Home in Wilton is dedicated to supporting Wilton seniors who choose to “age in place.”

Among the benefits members receive are light household assistance and home repairs, access to reputable vendors, informative seminars, regular social activities, rides, and membership in the Stay at Home in Wilton community.

Anyone who signs up for membership on Oct. 23 will receive one month off the membership price. Dues cover only 45% of the cost for each member. Fundraising provides the additional support needed to cover the cost. More than 100 local foundations, individuals, and business organizations have supported Stay at Home in Wilton.

The organization is run primarily by seniors who want to help seniors. Volunteers  provide friendly visits, household assistance like changing a light bulb, or a ride once or twice a month. Stay at Home also welcomes donations. All contributions are tax deductible.

To RSVP for the brunch, call Janet Johnson at 203-762-2600.
