Wiltonians Abigail and Ian Chow were named prize winners in the Schubert Club of Fairfield County’s Special Awards Competitions on April 2, at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Weston.
Abigail, 15-year-old tenth grader at the Hopkins School in New Haven, was awarded second prize in the senior level of the French Impressionist/20th Century Competition for her performance of the second and third movements of Ravel’s Sonatine. She also earned honorable mention for her performance of Chopin’s Waltz in A-flat major, Op. 34 No. 1 in the senior level of the Chopin Competition.
Ian, a 9-year-old fourth-grader at the Pierrepont School in Westport, won second prize in the primary level of the French Impressionist/20th Century Competition for his performance of Ibert’s The Little White Donkey.
The siblings are pupils of Edith G. Sullivan of Danbury and received their monetary awards and recognition on April 9 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
