Monster frog
A young girl checks out an American green frog found during the amphibian walk at Merwin Meadows on April 10. Around 50 amphibian seekers joined David Havens, an environmental science teacher from St. Luke’s School in New Canaan and a board member of the Norwalk River Watershed Association (NRWA). Several eastern red-backed salamanders were discovered as well, and the group learned about the amphibians’ life cycle and habitat along the Norwalk River. The NRWA hosted the walk with the Wilton Conservation Commission and the Wilton Garden Club as part of an on-going monthly series of co-hosted walks in Wilton.
