Edward Weiss, age 96, of Wilton, died peacefully on Jan. 24, 2016.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 31, 1919, to Joseph Weiss and Lily Sadel Weiss. He was married to Anita Weiss for more than 50 years, who died Aug. 18, 2004. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during WWll as an enlisted man and commissioned officer.
Throughout his life Weiss had many different successful careers, but his last career and love affair was with his bees. Known as the Bee Man, he sold his branded honey, Wilton Gold, throughout Fairfield County and authored The Queen and I, which went into a second printing.
It was Weiss’s wish that he be cremated and that wish has been carried out. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bouton Funeral Home 31 West Church Street, Georgetown.
