A hot-penny plate is a trivet. Wilton Historical Society will welcome children ages 6 to 12 to use pennies, felt and cork to make a star-shaped trivet Saturday, March 5, from 11 to 12:30. While making their trivet, Lola Chen, museum educator, will talk with the children about the history of coins in the United States. Participants will enjoy a cheese fondue snack.
Participants are asked to bring 20 pennies for their hot-penny plate. The cost is $10 per member child, maximum $25 per family; non-members $15 per child, maximum $35 per family. Register: info@wiltonhistorical.org or 203-762-7257. The Wilton Historical Society is at 224 Danbury Road.
