Chromebook pilot update

Students in the school’s new 1:1 Chromebook pilot program recently completed piloting a digital e-portfolio using Google sites. They were asked to reflect on the school’s 21st Century learning expectations as part of its upcoming NEASC visit this spring. The students displayed a variety of different media, including video reflections of their experiences in the pilot so far this year.

College Admissions Evening

Charlie O’Hearn, founder and CEO of the Summit Educational Group of New Canaan and Newton, Mass., spoke with parents of Wilton High School sophomores and juniors on Feb. 2, in an effort to help them better understand the role of the PSAT, newly redesigned SAT and the ACT in college admissions process.

Heart health awareness

February is National Heart Month and Wilton High School’s health office has been circulating information on the annual observance to students and staff. The school was unable to participate in National Wear Red Day, in support of women’s health, on Feb. 5 due to snow, but encourages everyone to visit the American Heart Association’s website to learn more about the initiative.

Class of 2020 Curriculum Night

Wilton High School administration, instructional leaders and some faculty members welcomed the 2020 Wilton High School class to the school’s curriculum night on Tuesday, Jan. 26, where they received information on courses, sequences and learning tasks from members of each academic subject.

Scholastic Art Awards

Wilton High School senior Lauren Wyman received one of the top drawing awards during a Connecticut Art Education Association award ceremony at the Hartford Art School on Jan. 31. Lauren received a Gold Key award, as well as the American Vision Award.
