Aaron Breene won the 1000 meters and took second in the 1600 meters to lead the Wilton High track and field teams at Saturday’s Class L state championships in New Haven.
Breene accounted for 18 of the Wilton boys team’s 24 points, as the Warriors placed sixth.
The team’s other points came via a third place in the 3200 meters by Justin Hoelzl.
The Wilton girls finished eighth with 26 points.
Relays accounted for 14 of those points, while the other points came via a third- and fourth-place finish in the 3200 meters by Morgan McCormick and Mary Lynch, and fifth place in the 600 meters by Mary Lynch.
The best finish in the relays was a second place in the 4×400 with the team of Paisley Eagan, Julia Vitarelli, Elizabeth Healy and Jillian Lauricella.
