Police took a speeding motorist into custody on Feb. 8 after learning she had failed to appear in court to answer to a charge or charges she accrued in a separate incident.

Around 1 p.m., an officer spotted a 2011 BMW 328i travelling north on Danbury Road at 56 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The driver of the BMW, stopped near Wilton Hills, was driving under a license suspension. “Due to a previous failure to appear,” police said, she was taken into custody.

Tiffany Bailey, 29, of 262 Masarik Avenue, Stratford, was charged with speeding, operating a motor vehicle under a suspended license, failure to return that license, and failure to change a home address on a driver’s license.

Bailey posted a $250 bond and was released with a court date of Feb. 18 at Norwalk Superior Court.
