Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will offer a bereavement support group to help adults cope with loss following the death of a beloved pet.
The group will meet on three consecutive Thursdays, from 1:30 until 3, beginning Feb. 11 and running through Feb. 25, at the nursing agency’s offices in Suite 114 at the Health and Wellness Center, 761 Main Avenue (Route 7), Norwalk.
“While there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope with the anguish of losing a pet,” said the Rev. Karen Judd, a grief counselor with the agency. “Participants in this support group will be offered a safe place to express their feelings of sorrow and loss. They will find acceptance, comfort, empathy and support.”
The support group is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. Call 203-834-6341, ext. 255.
