Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County is seeking mature, compassionate individuals from Wilton to serve as patient support volunteers. These volunteers visit homebound adults who may be experiencing loneliness, personal loss, bereavement, life transitions or chronic illness and they provide companionship and counseling for one hour a week.

Those who are interested may register to participate in a three-session training course which is scheduled to run Feb1-3, from 10 until 1 each day. The training sessions will be held at the nursing agency’s offices in Suite 114 at the Health and Wellness Center, 761 Main Avenue (Route 7).

“The goal is to help keep homebound patients from feeling isolated. We want to help patients remain active and connected to their communities,” said Laurie Petrasanta, the agency’s volunteer coordinator.

Information: 203-834-6341, ext. 316.
