A Norwalk man was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace on Jan. 11 around 5:30 after he came up from behind a woman doing her laundry at Wilton Laundromat and “squeezed her head,” police said.
After yelling at her alleged aggressor and asking him to leave her alone, the victim left the Laundromat, locked herself in her car, and called 911.
When officers arrived at the Laundromat’s 24 Danbury Road location, the accused, Orialis Betances, 39, of 35 Center Avenue, Norwalk, was observed “shadow boxing” and “punching a washing machine.”
He claimed no memory of putting his hands on anyone, police said.
A small amount of suspected marijuana was recovered during Betances’ pat-down. Ultimately, he was issued a summons for second-degree breach of peace and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana. He was taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. He has a court date of Jan. 29.
