Beginning this month, a four-part seminar concerning legal matters that the elderly must often confront, entitled “Planning for Life and Beyond: Dialogues with an Elder Law Attorney,” will be held at the Wilton Senior Center.
The Senior Center is located in the Comstock Community building. Each session will be held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m., and will be led by Connecticut Bar attorney Christine Tenore, a Wilton resident.
Tenore, who area of practice includes Title XIX/Medicaid planning and application, conservatorships, wills, trusts, and decedents’ estates, is a partner at elder law firm Eliovson & Tenore in Fairfield. She graduated from Binghamton University with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, and from the Pace University School of Law.
The Jan. 27 session will feature a discussion of the new Connecticut Power of Attorney Act, living wills, and the new Connecticut health care directive called Medicare Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment.
The Feb. 24 session will feature a discussion of wills, trusts, and probate documents.
The March 23 session will feature a discussion of long-term care alternatives with an overview of Medicaid regulations and long-term care insurance.
The April 27 session is a dialogue with Tenore. This final meeting serves as a recap of the series, and participants will have the opportunity to ask Tenore any questions they might have.
