Pet owners and their canine pet family members are invited to the eighth annual one-mile community dog walk around the town of Ridgefield, at the Blue Buffalo/ROAR Paws for the Cause dog walk in Ballard Park, Sunday, Oct. 5, at noon.
At the walk Blue Buffalo will be on-site educating for pet owners about new products and providing information to help raise awareness and funding for the Blue Buffalo Foundation for Cancer Research.
“We were inspired to start this foundation after our family dog Blue was taken by cancer,” said Bill Bishop, a founder Blue Buffalo, which is headquartered in Wilton.
At the walk people may donate by purchasing a pet cancer awareness “Protect Our Pets” wrist band and also receive information on early cancer detection in their pet.
Registration and check-in for all activities start at noon. New this year is a Doggie Talent Show for children 12 and under. Prizes will be given for best dressed, best kisser, best smile, and best trick. Grand prize is a Celebrity Scooper for the Day at Carvel.
The walk begins at 2:15. To register in advance: roar-ridgefield.org.
