Middlebrook
Since October, Middlebrook’s TV Production Club has been meeting and producing shows in the middle school’s new television studio that was built over the summer.
The inaugural edition of Middlebrook’s new student newspaper, The Middlebrook Times, is available online at middlebrooktimes.com. This issue includes student-written articles about the school’s Visionary Art Award, the Littlebits Robotic car built by sixth graders, and the upcoming Science and Engineering Fair.
As part of a longtime school tradition, members of Middlebrook’s chorus and student council visited senior centers in Wilton earlier this month, where they shared winter treats and sang winter songs.
Cider Mill
Cider Mill School students had a lesson in fire prevention earlier this month with learning sessions led by Wilton firefighters, who reminded the children about stop, drop and roll. The firefighters also discussed home safety measures, updating batteries in smoke alarms and having a safe meeting place away from the house in case of an emergency.
On Friday, Cider Mill had its annual Holiday Sing Along, during which third graders led their houses in Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas songs, using chimes, bells and other props.
Miller-Driscoll
On Monday, Dec. 14, six second-grade classes moved into their new portable classrooms and the school welcomed Bernadette Hess as its interim principal.
