The holiday season can become a source of stress for many families. Some, however, worry about needing to hide or explain a child’s behavior to extended family and friends. For some, the break in routine causes behavioral changes in a child.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Child and Adolescent Network (CAN) is a support group for parents of children with behavioral, emotional and mental health issues. Meetings are free, confidential, safe and led by trained volunteers who themselves have had personal experiences raising children with these concerns. Parents come from Redding, Weston, Westport, Wilton and towns in the surrounding area.
Upcoming meetings are Monday, Nov. 30, and Dec. 21, from 10 to 11:30, G&B Cultural Center, 49 New Street, Wilton. Information: Beth at 203-984-0123 or beth44es@gmail.com, or Vanessa at 203 970-4130 or eliasvanessa5@gmail.com.
