According to police, American Paving Specialists, LLC. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, placed a “skim-coat” of asphalt to level the roadways in the north portion of Wilton Center and completely paved the bridge to Schenck’s Island.
Police advise however that tomorrow, Nov. 12, “will be the worst day for traffic” in the center, as the paving company plans to begin the regular paving of Center Street, Old Ridgefield Road and a “small portion” of River Road that morning.
“This will force the closing of Center Street or Old Ridgefield Road at times,” police said.
Officers will be on scene to direct and detour traffic.
Police suggest the use alternate routes if possible.
