Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan Harris announced this week 19 applicants met a recent deadline for submitting an application to open a medical marijuana dispensary facility under the state’s Medical Marijuana Program.
Applications were in response to the department’s June request for applications for proposed locations in New Haven or Fairfield counties.
Harris said, “We are pleased with the number of applications received and are ready to begin
our comprehensive review process.”
The department will begin a confidential application review process immediately. The review process will continue until license award determinations have been made.
The state intends to award three dispensary facility licenses by early 2016. These license awards will be publicly announced.
