The Weston Hebrew School will offer an after-school Hebrew enrichment program, open to Wilton students, at the Norfield Grange, 12 Goodhill Road, in Weston, this fall.
The enrichment program for kindergartners through seventh graders will kick off with a High Holiday Fair on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The program is open to “every Jewish child, regardless of affiliation, level of observance or prior knowledge,” according to a press release, and synagogue membership is not required.
The Tuesday classes, from 3:45 to 5:15, are designed to help children learn about Jewish history, traditions and customs through hands-on, multi-sensory teaching techniques like games, baking, and arts and crafts.
The program director is Freida Hecht.
According to the Weston Hebrew School website, the program’s “innovative curriculum” incorporates the Aleph Champ Hebrew reading and writing program. Bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah preparation will be offered as well.
