Tomatoes of all sorts — large and small, new and heirloom — will be part of Tomato Tasting + Family Fun on Aug. 16 at Ambler Farm.
Tomatoes will be celebrated at the Tomato Testing + Family Fun on Sunday, Aug. 16, 1-3, at Ambler Farm. Visitors may taste and learn about a variety of fresh heirloom, hybrid and garden variety tomatoes.
The largest tomato brought from a home garden will win a prize. Farmer Jonathan will also lead a tour of the Ambler Farm production garden.
There will be a tomato cooking and recipe demonstration on making tomato jam, as well as lawn games including horseshoes and corn hole.
Participants are encouraged to bring a tomato-based dish for sharing, along with the recipe.
The afternoon includes a BYO picnic and blankets or chairs.
