Who doesn’t want to look their best for graduation?

Members of the May graduating guide dog class at Guiding Eyes for the Blind and previous graduates were treated to a special “spa day” May 28, courtesy of Canine Company in Wilton, to prepare them for the May 30 graduation ceremony. Canine Company’s mobile spa and two groomers were at the Guiding Eyes campus in Yorktown, N.Y. to give each dog a shampoo and moisturizing treatment, nail trim, ear cleaning and more to get them ready to head to their new homes.

“We’ve been a long-time supporter of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and saw this as a way to do something more,” said Jennifer Hill, president and CEO of Canine Company. “Now that we have a mobile grooming spa serving Westchester County, we thought grooming the graduating dogs would be a great way to help celebrate their achievement and demonstrate our commitment to this great cause.”

Guiding Eyes (guidingeyes.org) is a nonprofit that provides guide dogs to people with vision loss as well as service dogs to children with autism.

Canine Company provides at-home pet care products and services, Invisible Fence® brand pet containment systems and manners at-home obedience training. Information: caninecompany.com or 1-800-818-DOGS (3647).
