Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will offer a workshop called Talking to Your Doctor on Thursday, April 9, at 11, at the Wilton Senior Center, 180 School Road.
In this workshop, participants will learn how to take a more proactive role in their own healthcare. The discussion will focus on communication tips for getting the most out of the short amount of time available during a medical appointment.
Melody Matheny-Orpen, RN, community health coordinator at the nursing agency, will offer practical advice on how to cultivate a good doctor-patient relationship.
“Your doctor is an expert on medical care but you are the expert on yourself,” she said. “Those attending this workshop will learn how to become partners with their doctors in their own healthcare.”
