Wilton High varsity cheerleading seniors (from left to right) Jamie Perry, Nicole Amato, Meaghan Herlyn, Taylor Aquan and Avery Langhoff took fifth place at the New England Cheerleaders’ Association Championship individual partner stunt ‘Top Gun’ event on Saturday.

The Wilton High varsity cheerleading squad’s top stunt group competed at the New England Cheerleaders’ Association Championship on Saturday at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain in the individual partner stunt ‘Top Gun’ event.

The group, comprised of seniors, from left to right, Jamie Perry, Nicole Amato, Meaghan Herlyn, Taylor Aquan and Avery Langhoff, impressed the judges with their original and challenging routine to take fifth place in a large field of some of the most elite stunt groups in the State.

This was the last individual competition for these seniors, who have been competing together since middle school.

The varsity squad, which also placed fifth in the Advanced Large Varsity Division at the NECA competition, will finish up its season at the CIAC state championship on Saturday in New Haven.
