The component of Eversource Energy formerly known as Yankee Gas has surpassed its 2014 goals for expanding natural gas to Connecticut customers, the utility reported.
The company “successfully converted more than 5,500 customers while adding approximately 20 miles of new gas main in its service territory,” a press release said.
In 2014, the company completed its first large-scale natural gas expansion project in Wilton. The new 3.5-mile pipeline made conversion possible for residents, businesses and town buildings that will allow the community, reportedly, to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual energy costs.
